Manual Practice Osteopathy is a therapy of evaluation and analysis of the musculo-skeletal, visceral, circulatory, neurological, and cranial systems. The intention is that of restoring the normal function of the body by treating the causes of pain and imbalances that may be the result of injury, illness, stress, and the chronicity of daily living.

Over time, the body gradually loses its ability to efficiently self-regulate and to self-heal. Some of this loss may be due in part to the aging process, the prolonged influence of gravity on posture, traumas, illness, surgical scarring, childbirth, repetitive activity or strain, or the cumulative effects of mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual stress. In most cases the patient has had some combination of the above experiences. The results of these experiences may manifest themselves locally in the body, or more frequently the symptoms are experienced far from the site of the original site of occurrence. The practitioner is said to assess the whole body. Although treatment may be directed toward several specific areas, the effect of that treatment is often felt throughout the body as everything in the body is connected.

I was born and raised in small town Saskatchewan, early on I was fascinated with the complexity of human body and directed my passion towards health care. I studied and obtained my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Saskatchewan where I went on to further study Critical Care Nursing. After a number of years in the field I realized I was consistently chasing symptoms, rather than identifying the underlying cause contributing to dis-ease. This approach to the body no longer resonated with me, and from this space I found Osteopathy.

I completed the Osteopathic program from The Canadian School of Osteopathy Manual Practice in Vancouver, BC which consisted of five years of classroom study and student clinic hours in 2018. I successfully defended my thesis research titled “Global Osteopathic Treatment on Postpartum Depression Symptomatology” and was awarded the WG Sutherland Thesis award for the advancement of Osteopathy in clinical research April 2020. I hold the professional designation as Osteopathic Manual Practitioner (D.O.M.P., D.Sc.O) and I am a member of both the Ontario and Saskatchewan Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners. My most recent professional venture is that of being a co-founder of Saskatoon’s newest wellness collective, Boreal Wellness!

My greatest area of interest lies within the mind-body connection as well as pre/postal natal care for both mum and baby. In my spare time you can find me exploring nature with my little family of three, in the kitchen mastering my current sourdough recipe, or connecting to my body in my yoga and meditation practice.

My massage style can best be described as “therapeutic relaxation”. While positive physical outcomes are most often a goal of treatment, so is encouraging rest, relaxation and restoration of your body and being. Both can happen simultaneously very well! Of course, your treatment will always be catered specifically to you to help you achieve your goals. The most frequent modalities you may experience during a treatment from me are:

  • Myofascial Release
  • Myofascial Cupping
  • Manual Lymphatic Drainage
  • Assisted Stretching Therapy
  • Craniosacral Therapy
  • Breathwork
  • Swedish Massage Techniques aka General Massage

Since I was just a wee one I’ve been interested in how the body works and moves. I’ve formally studied massage therapy, yoga and was a certified personal trainer. I also have hundreds of hours of self-study and make sure to learn at least a little more every day! I use the knowledge and skills I’ve gained over the years to provide a unique and effective treatment designed to help you achieve your goals.

Outside of the treatment room you will find me enjoying the outdoors, tending to my garden, attending festivals and music events, loving my boyfriend Jarrett and my kitty Maebe, and living life to the best of my ability.

I graduated from the Professional Institute of Massage Therapy and am an active member of CMMOTA.

First time clients - Ideally our first session together is 75min or longer. This will allow us to review your health history, discuss your goals and have assessment time while still allowing lots of time for hands-on body work. This is a suggestion, not a requirement.
